Picture resize in IE6
So since I upgraded to IE6, the biggest diffrence that I have noticed, and come to like, is the resizing of pictures to fit the window. It shrinks, and the little box in the lower right corner can expand it back up.
This dosn't happen on CD. Is it coded this way in VB3? If so, why? I see alot of pictures that were not resized/edited before being uploaded and are far to large to view on one screen. It would be cool if I could see it on one screen to understand the structre, then zoom in on parts. Or is this a problem that only I am having? (Last time you sent me to IE6, where you sending me now. )Wetzel |

Re: Picture resize in IE6
I face the same situation, with images on CD not resizing as they do on almost every other site. I am also running IE6.

Re: Picture resize in IE6
This feature (which is also part of Mozilla/Firebird) only happens when the image is in a window by itself. AFAIK, it won't resize while embedded in a webpage.
I plan on doing some sort of magic with the image galleries, where you can choose at what size you want to view images. They will be resized [by html, not physically resized] to a preference in your control panel. I don't know when this will happen though .. I'm pretty busy. -Brandon Quote:

Re: Picture resize in IE6
Ok, thanks.
No rush, this works. Just thought it was a feature being suppresed or some other silly thing. Now I'm interested in this 'new feature, comming soon'. Wetzel ~~~~~~~~ I got negative rep for that question? Huh. Last edited by Wetzel : 29-01-2004 at 23:17. |

Re: Picture resize in IE6
I have a couple of "IE Power toys" from way back. (I think that's the right name.) They allow me to right click on any image, and zoom in or out. I downloaded them from Microsoft. I'll see if I can find them again, and let you know.
[Edit] I found it. It's Web Accessories for Internet Explorer 5. Note: The last time I checked, there was a bug in zoomin and zoomout. It's easily fixable, though. After installing, you need to edit zoomin.htm and zoomout.htm. (On my system they are installed in c:\windows\web.) In zoomin, replace the following lines: Code:
h = parentwin.event.srcElement.height * 2; parentwin.event.srcElement.height = h; w = parentwin.event.srcElement.width * 2; parentwin.event.srcElement.width = w; Code:
h = parentwin.event.srcElement.height * 2; w = parentwin.event.srcElement.width * 2; parentwin.event.srcElement.height = h; parentwin.event.srcElement.width = w; Code:
h = parentwin.event.srcElement.height / 2; parentwin.event.srcElement.height = h; w = parentwin.event.srcElement.width / 2; parentwin.event.srcElement.width = w; Code:
h = parentwin.event.srcElement.height / 2; w = parentwin.event.srcElement.width / 2; parentwin.event.srcElement.height = h; parentwin.event.srcElement.width = w; [/Edit] Last edited by Greg Ross : 30-01-2004 at 03:02. |
