ATTENTION Detroit & West Michigan Participants

U.S. Army RDECOM/TARDEC and Team #1447, Centerline H.S. Panther Robotics announce the appearance of our Mobile Parts Hospital at the Detroit (WSU) and West Michigan (GVSU) events.

The MPH contains all seen here: (except for the Laser Scanning Station – which is off doing it’s thing in South-West Asia)
MPH

Show Ready Events is working to supply a live video feed to the Virtual Theater, so you won’t miss any of the action when you visit us.

As a way to entice your team to visit the MPH at those events, we are offering to build lapel sized scale models of your 2004 robot – one per team member – up to 30. The conditions are:
#1: Send a “clean” STL file of your robot, pre-scaled to fit in a one-inch cube, to Eclectic@Comcast.net, NLT 1-March, 2004. Include the number of models you’ll want us to burn. (NOTE: These requests will be verified as authentic with the respective team leaders!)
#2: Visit the MPH at the competition to receive your model – one per person, in uniform or otherwise verifiable as a team member. At least ½ the members must visit in order to receive all the models, the remainder will be given to the team leader, or his/her representative.

By clean STL we mean – fully connected – physically reasonable. We will not fix any files, but rather send them back to you for correction. Try to produce a shell of the robot, which the sintering machine will turn into one solid piece. Use common sense as to the resolution; the machine will melt together anything within +- 0.025” from each other. No need to support any arms, booms, etc. - this layered, dry powder method can build a “Ship in a Bottle”, provided you leave a way for the un-burned nylon to escape.

Regards – hope to see you at the competitions – and good luck this year,

JJ
