Who's Drilled the Most Lightening Holes?
Heh, let's see who's got the most in ONE COMPONENT, please.
I was a member of our team's "Hail Mary" device (extendable arm to reach the endzone). We had so many holes to drill it wasn't funny. We had 12 peices in our part. Counting each side, that's 24 sides to drill in. We had 3 holes for attaching per peice. We had 83 holes on each side of each peice. 24 * 83 + (3 * 24) = 2064 holes. All drilled and deburred. Oh, and we had to make two sets of them, too. Wheee! And FYI, overall weight loss on the peice was 1lb. Divide that by the number of holes, and we get.... a whopping total of 4.844 x e-4 lbs lost per hole. Can anyone share in our misery? ![]() |
