Re: schematics or wire diagrams for van door motors

Are you looking for information on the motor's real world application?

If so, just look at the name If I'm not mistaken (which is ENTIRELY possible) they are used to retract van doors on those big maxi-vans. Again, don't hold me to that. If someone could verify that, it would help me out a great deal (I pretty much understand what most of the motors are used for, but this one is sort of fuzzy).

If that's NOT what you're looking for, then please elaborate further...do you want to know about motors in general? The VDM's gearbox?

Question Re: schematics or wire diagrams for van door motors

I would like to know more specific information about how the different motors work (drill motor, van door motor) and what its real world application are. General information about how electric motors work will be ok too

Thanks for your help

Re: schematics or wire diagrams for van door motors

Also can anyone tell me how much the servos in the kits can pull, not specs but real life examples. We are thinking about using servos for a latching mechanism which will be released at the beginning of the game. I want to know if it can be used.

thanks

sorry for the name change
just made a new account

Well, typically the name of the motor gives a good idea of what it's real world application is. For instance:

The drill motors are from Boch cordless drills, like you would find at your local hardware store.

The van door motors are used on (GM i think) mini-vans that have power sliding side doors.

The window motors are used for power windows in some brand of car.

The seat motor is used for power seats in some cars.

The Globe motor is used to engage 4WD, in a SUV.

The CIM motor is used on a power jack on a RV (I think)

The Fisher price motors are from those little electic cars they sell for kids.

Try http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/motor.htm for a basic introduction to how electric motors work.

Well, to estimate, servos are slightly weaker that your pinky finger. So, if you can pull it out easily using just your pinky (i.e don't move your hand, just bend your pinky fiinger), the servo should be enough.

Any other questions feel free to ask away.
