Go to Post If we can transform our culture to the point where girls swoon over guys as they pull their dremel off their belt and carve some speed holes in a smooth fluid motion, I think FIRST is half way to its goal. When we get the guys to swoon over the girls for their hot moves on the 5-axis, we have won. - EricVanWyk [more]

For some reason out of te blue i seem to get this message now when i begin to compile code. How do i get rid of it ? it only seems to happen when i use the laptop, and it neer did it before.

Heres the message:

Couldn't locate build tool. Check tool locations.

I would surmise that the build too it's talking about is C18. (Re)install that.

You get that kind of message when the wrong toolsuite is selected in MPLAB.

go to Project -> Select Language Toolsuite
In the pop-up window is "Microchip C18 Toolsuite" selected as the active Toolsuite?

If not select it. If the Toolsuite Contents come up with red X's then you have to click on each of the tools and browse to locate it.

MPASM is in C:\Program Files\MPLAB IDE\MCHIP_Tools\mpaswin.exe
MPLINK is in C:\mcc18\bin\mplink.exe
MPLAB C18 is in C:\mcc18\bin\mcc18.exe

Try that and see if you get further.
