You are not allowed to draw/supply power to the competition port.

And if you did draw/supply power, you might fry it. I talk from expierience. Besides, they don't tell us anything other than the three switches.

Re: wire from competition port?

We built a 9V battery adapter for the competition port. Just connect power to Pin 1 of the competition port and ground to pin 8.

Yes, I suppose it technically voids your warranty, but who's gonna know?

This is the 3rd question you've asked on this topic, and you've gotten the same answers each time. Maybe if you tell us exactly what you'd like to do then we might be able to help more.

So far, as best I can tell, you'd like to hook up a VFD for feedback to your drivers, and several people have told you that you'll need your own power source for it. Is there more to it than that?

Why? there is a perfectly good power connector 4" away from it. I much prefer to use known things, then undocumented "features" which could change.

Err ... the reason we did it is because it could be screwed into the competition port ... we had problems with the other one coming unplugged.

(note .... I now realize that I answered a question totally different from the one that was asked in the first place .... so I apoligize for the added confusion.)
