Ridiculous Download Time?
I'm not sure if this is just ours or not, but the download time for the hex file is ridiculous. We clocked the last one at over 4 minutes.. I guess theres no quick fix option between closely scheduled matches eh?
If anyone could tell me if I'm doing something wrong I'd appreciate it. Thanks |

Re: Ridiculous Download Time?
It should take on the order of 10 seconds.
Are you using a USB to Serial Converter? Several people have reported that they get rediculously slow downloads when going through certain USB to Serial Converters. |

Re: Ridiculous Download Time?
Here is one thread in which someone has problems with that converter. It also has several alternates.
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=22424 BTW, most embedded microprocessors still use serial connections for programming. So it isn't IFI that it is behind the times. If you think about it, when you are designing an embedded system to last 10+ years, you definetly want to use the tried and true technology. |

Re: Ridiculous Download Time?
Yea.. I understand that they mostly use serial connections.. but theres also chips that easily allow the conversion from USB to serial.. Either way.. I guess I'm going to have to deal with it.
Thanks for your help! |
