I'll be a little more specific. A hydraulic or pneumatic jack by itself is not illegal. You can jack your car up and down all day without breaking any FIRST rules. It would be illegal if you put the entire hydraulic or pneumatic jack on your robot. It would not be illegal if you used only the non-hydraulic or non-pneumatic parts of the jack on your robot.

I think my post did the opposite of what I intended. I have made this more confusing haven't I.

Maybe you just tell us exactly what parts you will be using and we say yes or no.

its a crank scissor jack, so all we would have to do is attach a motor to the crank part. all we need to knoe is if that would be legal
