Our team used it as a base for the field scene, mostly as a modeling aid, since a lot of parts had to be redone (this is a very good field from blueprints & manufacturing point of view, but has some flaws that make it hard to use for animation - like excess geometry, and sharp edges). It is much easier to make objects when you have an easy way to visualize all the dimensions - it is like a 3d blueprint.

Yes, we left some of the original geometry intact, but everything was remapped and scene completely re-lit.
