I was just curious how much money that teams are given to fund the robot and the trips? Anyone have an idea?

We are sponsered by the Navy so we get about $0 from them and we get tiny amount from our town. 90% of our money is fundraised or from our pockets. But its ok because we are motivated and the engineers we get are awsome even though we are low on funds.

Depends all on how you go to things. It's a lot more expensive for a team to fly down to Nats then it is to bus it down. I think the our total budget last year was around 30k and that payed for everyone to go to Nats and VCU.

Bravo Joe!

Joe,

Do you think the money (or lack thereof) has united your team more toward the common goal? I know that our situation here in Platteville is similar, and I think it's the drive, stamina and motivation of all of our team members (not to mention their parents and friends) that makes this work every year.
