1/2" #20 threads keyless chuck needed

We need to find a drill chuck to go onto the Bosch drill motor head (1/2" #20 - 20 threads per inch). Can anyone tell me where we can get one on short notice?

Also can anyone tell me if it is legal to use a drill chuck?

We tried to connect a 1/4 flexible shaft to the Bosch drill motor head with a set screw but it is tearing up the flexible shaft and not holding. We are hoping a drill chuck will do the trick.

We have found the exact same motor (and the rest of the drill) in our local Lowes and Home Depot. They are about $50 not too shabby for some spares...

Good luck!

they dont want motors, they want chucks. I dont know why you'd want a chuck. those things will loosen like crazy. Take a look at Lovejoy's flexible couplings. they allow for some misalignment of your shafts. Last year we tapped them to take the left-hand thread of the drill shaft. It worked pretty well.

You could try www.mcmaster.com or www.toolpartsdirect (search for 3360.561). McMaster usually can get it to you next day.
