Looks very nice...but did you realize that there is a 130 lb. weight limit? It looks VERY heavy, but it could be deceiving.

Nice machine work on the wheels. What material are you using on the wheels? How well does it climb a 6 in step?

From looking at the rest of their robot, including the wrap around frame, I doubt they will be climbing the step.

Why use chain? Isn't it unnecesarily heavy? What's wrong with a cable?

We´re in the limit of the 130 lb, but we´re not heavier than that.

The material used is PU (Poliuretane), I guess that´s the word in english. It´s very hard, but it sticks to all surfaces when pressed. Actually, we´re having trouble with traction ´cos the wheels are "grabing" the ground :-) . in fact, a good material.

We´re going to use a small wheel in front of the robot to climb the stairs.

The chain is being used for traction, and has been a choice made by us considering the weight and some other things.

Re: pic: Team 1156 Robot

I like the "mini frame" on top. It doubled the space for your electronics and also protects them.

Re: pic: Team 1156 Robot

Actually the weels were custom made. They were made with (PU - Poliuretane). We are going to use different wheels on the front, they were also custom made, you can check them out here:
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=25482 hope you enjoy, and if there is any doubt, pls! About the "mini frame", that is exactly the point, more space and we hope that it protects well the electronics!
