Oh yeah. Looks like Intel's lazyness has gotten to them, and AMD still is behind a bit. BTW, they also said that the PPC 970FX (the ones shipping in the XServe G5, not the PMG5) is the best proc this year.

What do you have that uses that much processing power?

Seriously, I'm still using an old AMD 800 Mhz T-bird. I have Gentoo Linux on it, optimized the CFLAGS all crazily, and it runs really good.
Even KDE only takes about 5 to 10 seconds to load, and once it's loaded, it doesn't have to wait on anything else.

Being able to say "I have the fastest computer ever!" is cool, but why waste the money if you don't need it?
