Disney Exhortation!

Anyone else in the mood for a pun?

I'd like to hear the best things to do at nationals. Last year was my first year, but here I go:

When you go to Disney, make sure that you ride the Haunted Hotel Tower of Doom ride - very slick. And the Fantasia show is pretty good. Both are in the MGM studios park.

For those that don't get it.

My dad usually makes a little booklet for his teammates with ideas on what rides to ride what places to see, etc.

Maybe he'll post some of his ideas on here.

verdeyw,

Might you be thinking of the Tower of Terror? Fun ride. A couple of great things to do on that ride:

Take a quarter or penny or something, and when it releases you, hold it in the air and remove your hand, it will float.

The other thing is to sit there and pose *sp* for the camera, you make bored faces with other people around you flipping out. Good times, good times...

You can also move your knees up a little to make the bar not so tight, that feels funny, floating...(I do not condone this action, for it is breaking the rules of Disney and Disney theme parks )

There are a lot of other things like this on rides, PM me for some more good ones...

You should check out the newish Rockin Rollercoaster...it's fun

Yeah, that's the one!

We did just about all of those on the dozen or so rides we took on that thing last year. The thing is, when smaller people than myself ride next to me on the seat, they have a much better time, because I tend to "raise the bar", so to speak.

We've always done team pictures on Splash Mountain. I think I've still got a few scans somewhere...

Good luck at competition everyone!

The engineers on my team also always head out to Kissimmee, where they have the biggest skycoaster I've ever seen.

If you've never ridden one, there's a giant swing that hangs from the front mast, to which they strap you. Then they hoist you back to the rear mast, 300 cold, quiet, lonely feet in the air. Then they say (over a PA, otherwise you couldn't hear them), "Three, two, one, fly!"

At which point, you pull a ripcord, and fall. You freefall for a good ten minutes. Ok, it's closer to three seconds, but it feels long, and then you swing back and forth for five or six minutes, which is also probably an overestimation.

Very cool ride.

Space Mountain!!! Inside roller coaster. It's dark and you can't see where you are going
I'm probably going to go to Universal this year too. I haven't been there in 7 years.
I've been to Disney 6 times.

Ah, 'cause it is the largest skycoaster in the world There are larger models available for purchase, but nobody has decided to install any yet.

At any rate, $80 for two riders. Ouch. Otherwise, if you're out at Old Town, they've got an S&MC Windstorm, and an Afterburner. They're both neat rides, but nowhere near as large as the Skycoaster.

If you head up International Drive, you'll pass Congo River Golf... They have a ride there called Katanga. Also very cool.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. . . The best drop ride on the planet, nearly. If you want the *best* ride imaginable, ask for the seatbelt. It's the middle seat on row 5, right in the aisleway. You don't have to worry about too tight a lap bar at all in this seat. Woooo, airtime!

Fantasmic, I think, is overrated.

Rockin' Roller Coaster, of course, is awesome. 120 Speakers per train, Aerosmith blastin' the whole way through. . . and it's a smooth Vekoma coaster, which is an amazing feat unto itself. (It's because Disney designed it, really )

Alien Encounter rocks, I think, as well. An awesome show all around, and the most technically complex on Walt Disney World property.

I love Dinosaur. If they've got the intensity on the program all the way at the top notch, this ride really tosses you around....and if you're so lucky as to get a ride where all of the effects are working (The vortex generator, in particular), it's one incredible ride.

And, of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention a classic - The Haunted Mansion. I can't say enough good things about this attraction.

Wayne - visit Islands of Adventure over Universal Studios proper. It's a far superior park. They've got the Incredible Hulk (a very cool coaster) as well as Dueling Dragons (The best dueling coasters on earth )...as well as The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. If you know *anything* about 3D projection and points of convergence, this thing will have you drooling

The Incredible Hulk uses soooo much power for each launch that the electricity must be taken off the power grid at a constant rate and stored in capacitors. . . why? To prevent brownouts in greater Orlando every 2 minutes

Can y'all tell that I spend way too much time in, around, and thinking about theme parks? It's true, there can be passion for things other than FIRST
