Don't you guys risk tipping over when fully loaded? From the looks of it if someone managed to get under the wheels (those closer in the pic) they would send you over.

our CG is extremely low... We have been practicing for two days now and have never tilted at all .. even fully loaded.. it does look a little heavy though.. we kept all motors and other heavy components (battery and Compressor) a little above axle level...

Well what I meant was if another bot hit the underside of ur wheel, tread thing...especially how ur wheel is slanted like that makes for more chance for them to lift that one end and tip you over. What if a arm hit you ball corral with a decent amount of force?

I am sure it could happen... but you would have to catch us first .... that is the risk of building a good hopper bot that can hold a lot of balls... but then again we can pick them up when other teams have to drive around them ...

Yeah we are in the same boat...fast and a ball collecter. We can get fast enough to skid for a good foot on tile when we hit that reverse throttle from full forward throttle.

Re: pic: 1024 Kil-a-bytes up and runnin!!

How do you guys organize the balls? Seems like you have a belt that leads up to the top, then an alternating flap or switch, (something that alternates left/right), and the balls fall down in separate belts.. I'd love to see a picture of how you guys do this.. very sleek

by the way, how fast and strong is your drivetrain? (on carpet)

Congrats, a very cool design.
Like us, you must be a second year team - that makes that achievement even greater! Good to see another strong bot from Indy. Can't wait to see it in action

I don't know about that. If the ball collector has the capacity to go to the other side of the field and take all of the opponents' balls and then defend the step, where's the advantage of a 2 hanging robot alliance? In my oppinion, two arm robots will not win this game. An arm robot that can cap and hang well and a robot that can collect balls well will win. Key word: WELL.

Now if there are any ball collecting robots that can hang....

We came painfully close to doing this (as close as the Tuesday before ship!)

Our team is a major ball collector (10-12+ balls) with the ability to cap. We extend up to the full 5', and we have not had any problem with tipping.
