Re: Where did first get the Edu Batteries
You can also build the batteries. Just go and get some 1.2 volt AA sized (probably somewhere around 700 mAh) NIMH cells, and solder 6 of them together (positive to negative with leads), and presto! You have a battery pack.

Re: Where did first get the Edu Batteries
i was wondering... is the backup battery realy nessesary? could a variable voltage regulator at 7.2 volts (connected to the 12v main) do the same thing? or could we just not connect it at all to save weight... i have seen no diffrence in functionalty with it connected vs not connected. maybe im just slow

Re: Where did first get the Edu Batteries
you can find the Offical FIRST/IFI edu- Battery for $7 @ IFI. The battery is included in the inspection sheet posted at the 2004 Inspection Sheet so i would reccommend you have it at the comps. The battery powers any Servo motors you would use and also it will keep your bot from completly dieing if your main battery disconnects.
