Re: Finally! Who has shipped?
Our robot shipped around noon today. I'm so sad that it's gone. Now what will I do after school? Stupid drummer lives to far away to just go to his house so my band can rehearse.. OH! Homework... Yeah, maybe I should catch up a little. I can't wait for UCF. From what I hear from Ms. O (mentor leader) the autonomous mode works, and every thing is in order. I'm glad about that. Snow kept me from getting out there to see it shipped off. Does anyone else have nightmares about the fed ex truck never making it to the competition? I'll worry every night until March 11th. *sweat drop* Lol. Well It'll be okay I'm sure.

Re: Finally! Who has shipped?
The one word I have heard about a dozen times from my team was "Airbills??"
Arghh... I guess our robot did ship on time, but not under the free credit provided by FIRST... Lost airbills = $700 bill to ship robot from NJ to CT... Live and learn people... Live and learn... ![]() |

Re: Finally! Who has shipped?
I would like to announace that for the first time in team 521 history
we had our last screw into the crate before the FEDEX truck showed up ( often the robot isn't even in)!!!!! The last sheet of wrap was cut at appox. 2:47 and the robot was officially off of our hands at 3:56. At the time of ship we weighed apporx. 129 and had "functional" dead reackoning for both sides of field and a line tracker. All that we should have to be doing in the pits is fine tuning! P.S. best of luck to everbody this year and to all those with shipping woes my heart goes out to you as we have been there before all to often. |

Re: Finally! Who has shipped?
1293 was in the hizzouse at about 10:30 making the final rounds of shrink wrap.
Actually, we were out of the hizzouse. We were just outside the lab where we were building, standing in SLEET and working on securing the robot and the small bags of parts by the high beams of my Civic. I believe that 1293 will need about 20-30 minutes of final prep--we have to mount our protection (the front off a retired Piggly Wiggly shopping cart), and get our LEDs working the way we want 'em to. Oh, and get the numbers on the robot. I think that's about all we have to do...oh, and tell the visiting teams how to survive Columbia, SC. (We're gonna be at the Palmetto regional in the mah-velous Colonial Center, all of ten minutes away from Irmo High School--slightly longer for the rest of 1293's better halves.) |
