Re: One thing you learnt this season
I learned that steel gears aren't necessarily as strong as you'd think, and shear teeth rather painfully under shock loads. And thus, that transmissions should be designed carefully and robustly and using the actual gear strength equations. And built and put on a chassis early for testing. Just look what we did to the gear:
