Wink Hidden FIRST Logo in EPCOT

To anyone and everyone visiting EPCOT, I have some interesting news. This was noticed at Nationals but I had forgotten about it until now. In the Universe of Energy, at the very beginning you walk in to the theatre and sit on the floor (well, most standed but I was exhausted after nationals!) and watch a movie with Ellen, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and a few other stars on a very wide screen. It all takes place in Ellen's apartment. Well, in the bottom right of the screen at certain times, there is a plate in Ellen's apartment with the FIRST logo on it! I was too busy trying to sleep through the darn thing when a team mate of mine nudged me and pointed at it. Please tell me someone else knows what I'm talking about. I know there are hidden mickies (The classic three cirlce mickey shape hidden in murals etc. http://www.hiddenmickeys.org for more info) scattered all over Disney, but this is the FIRST (hahaha! Get it??) I've ever heard of a hidden FIRST symbol.

Once again, I really hope someone out there can confirm this for me, or even sneak in a picture of it if ya can. Its definitly worth taking a look at next year at Nationals. Hope to see you all there!

~Tom~, who's hopefully not treated as a mental patient after this post.

I can confirm

Tom,

I've seen the plate you are talking about, on the ride you are talking about. So I can confirm your story. I was kinda surprised when I first saw it as well. The irony of it now I guess is that Bill Nye is now doing BattleBots but hey. And I guess the saddness is of the millions of visitors that go through that ride....how many recognize a FIRST Logo??

I guess FIRST never leaves Bill Nye. Ironicly, a group called FIRST Television does Battlebots. Of course, this has nothing to do with our FIRST (I think), I'm just pointing it out.

I noticed that BattleBots is by FIRST Studios or whatever, as well. I always point it out to my brother and he just says "mmhmm" and rolls his eyes at me.

Team 59 is known best for it....Ramtech, with their Battlebot Rammstein.

Personally, from hearing about them, it seems possible that any FIRST team can do Battlebots on the side or vice versa....I think that any FIRST team that gives up FIRST totally to do Battlebots just isn't pushing themselves.

Well, the bi-annual tourny is held the weekend before Thanksgiving and Memorial Day weekend. The May one might be pushing it a bit, but the November one could work. Well, If you can get out to Vegas, that is.

Honestly can't remember!

Sorry Carolyn, but I honestly can't remember who it was that spotted it. Who's your guess? If I had to make one, it'd be Stephen or maybe Jens. Maybe Bobby.
