I only mentioned it because it was an issue with our team. We are driving our goal grabber with a lead screw and we will need to tether our bot to un-latch.

Our grabber can't release a goal once it is locked on -- but we can release the grabber.

Our mechanism is controlled by a window motor, allowing us to grab and release easily. We can also grab without power to the window motors, we just can't release.

We can grab two goals and release each one individually. The claws grab automatically when the strike one of the pipes. The claws can easily be removed when not powered up. The claw's grip is super powerful.

You can always shift the position of a pneumatic solenoid valve, whether single or double, by pushing the orange "manual override" button.

we can release but usually we don't grab a goal we just push it and go back for another. If were taking it from someone or pulling it then we will grab it.

We can grab, but when we do, we don't release, and we even have a hard time to get it off! We use 2 cams to pinch the pole in a very, very tight space, but we can ram the goal from any angle, and still latch!

We as a team spent probably 2 and a half hours discussing our grabbing mechanism (the technical term of course) and after all that our machinist came to us and said why dont you just use a hook, and thus the God-like shephard's hook of 862 was born, easy on easy off, the only thing on our robot that seemed to work well a GLR oh well

OH NOOOO MR BILL !!
We can release too with a spring loaded servo, (same one that deploys the claw)
Some of the bots out there look like they could pull a Semi !! I'm Just scared that I'll see it on the Big Screen dismembered still clutching the goal!! TEAM 236 !!! TECHNO TICKS!!!! |
