I think my dad was talking to your team from oconomowoc about the 4130, or "Special Aircraft Steel" as your team called it, and we wanna know why you TiG welded it and not gas, i mean, gas works better, stronger, more effective welds for 4130. It's what we use when building our aircraft

On the 4130 that we used, there is a combination of TiG and gas welds, mostly because of the resources that we had avalible when we needed welding done. The base of the frame was TiG welded at our sponsor's shop where it came into, and the rest was gas welded at OHS, there was no particular reason. It is strong though, on Thursday we were testing auton in the back where the carpet was, and it went the wrong way full speed into one of the arenas concrete support pillars, not a scratch
