Go to Post Or you could go to the Waterloo or Greater Toronto regional, walk up to anyone in their pit, and ask. You may end up feeling like you asked for a sip of water and ended up soaked by a fire hose, but you won't walk away disappointed. - Richard Wallace [more]

LI Regional, anyone??

Hey all. Well, just wanted to know who was coming to the LI Regional. And seeing that I'm the assistant manager of the regional...if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me. Plus, any comments or anything else is welcomed.

So, who's coming?!

This has definantly raised the level of play at VA since the teams have plenty of time to come up with a strategy. Thank you FIRST for giving this to us up front! It has added a new dimension to the competitioon!

Is that true for the Long Island regional also?

[edit] How many matches will each team have? [/edit]

Joel, I highly doubt that they would do that for one regional and not another. So, I would *assume* that it will be the same for us as well.
As far as matches go, I'm sure it'll be the same as every other regional. I don't have the list of matches or anything else, the only thing I got is the pit layout so I know what I'm doing on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I doubt FIRST would treat any regional different from another though. So, whatever you saw at KSC and VCU will probably be the same for us.

Bayshore, eh???... I dont even wanna hear you speak...

Why dont you come step foot into West Islip and say something?? You're no competition at all...

Heheheh... just kiddin man... competition should be fun. Actually your robot looks pretty cool this year. This is WI's first year so instead of getting too complicated, we decided to stick to basics and just grab the goal, but we should get style points Well, we did better than Bayshore did in their first year, hehe... we DO have a robot that can MOVE

We should've had a scrimmage or somethin... WI, Bayshore, St. Johns, Deer Park, East Islip... all in the same general vicinity. Oh well, too late now.

See ya Thursday man

Not sure which bot your talking bout as our first year, I don't know much bout the first year we competed, I wasn't in HS yet, but I know the robot was pitiful. Ya live ya learn. Scrimmage would have been cool, but as is tradition for our team we were working right up to ship, pulled an over-nighter, they are what robotics is really about From the little bit of practice we got with the shipped bot, and the practice we've got from the duplicate we made, we should do very well this year. Your guys bot looks really nice too, I hope those pistons on your grabber are highly secured, from what we saw at VCU and our knowledge of the power of our bot, a goal being pulled from your grip could break those off. Look for me at the BS pit area, I'll be the skinny doof with the Laptop and Digital Camera. Peace Can't wait for Compeition!

Well the RedJammers Team 311 from East Islip will be at the Long Island regional.

We just got back this afternoon from the Semi-Finals at the KSC Regionals and are ready to go for Brentwood! The weather back here at home isn't quite as warm as the sunny south but we'll manage.

scouting

Two members (Jestin McCarthy and Matt Derov) of team 131 C.H.A.O.S. will be at the LI regional. We will be scouting teams attending the New Haven regional in early April. If any team has any questions about this years CHAOS machine just pull us aside. We will be wearing those famous green and orange 131 t-shirts. See you all there, and good luck to all the teams.
