Information for teams who video tape the FIRST feed
When I came back from the competition on Friday I was kind of disappointed when I realized I had a very low sound level on my tapping of the FIRST feed. At first I thought it was a problem with my equipment. However after talking to a member of Rage, I found that he also had problems with low level audio.
The next day I politely asked the A/V person to boost the gain of the audio box, and he did. And the audio on the videotape came out good on Saturday. I don't know if this is widespread or just a problem with the UTC regional. However if you're taping the FIRST feed, it would be a good idea to check the sound with a pair of headphones or a sound meter. If the sound is too low, just ask him or her to boost the sound gain to get a better audio level. [Edit] I remember that the audio at BAE was low too but it could be heard if you pumped up the TVs volume to max. Last edited by Kyle Fenton : 20-03-2004 at 22:44. |

with most camcorders you can plug in headphones, put them on and check the audio volume and quality while its recording.

AND make sure you've set the VCR to the correct channel! (I don't know the correct channel, but we missed a lot of the comp. b/c of this.)
