Regional Winner Record

What's the record for the amount of consecutive regional wins?

(Like, did 1 team win 3 regionals, 2, etc...?)

I know the Cheesy Poofs (254) won something like 6 or 7 regionals in a row over the course of a couple years. I also know we were part of the first alliance to beat them in a regional (2002 Buckeye Regional).

Not quite that many. 1999 Silicon Valley (SV), 2000 SV and Lone Star, 2001 SV and Southern California, so 5 in a row, although those were the first 5 regionals they ever entered.

Re: Regional Winner Record

Our record is kind of odd, and nice with the new qualification system we have in place.

The rookie year for my team was 1999.
Our first regional win was in 2000 at UTC - CT.
Second regional win was two years later in 2002 in NYC - NY.
Third regoinal win was two years later in 2004 in Trenton - NJ.

It's been an "every other year winning streak" for us, and thankfully we have won regionals in 2002 and 2004 which are the years we HAD to win to go to The Championship event.

I saw the pattern starting to develop when we won in 2002, and was psyched that we continued it this year.
I don't really know what the pattern entails though, it's kind of funny.
It is every other year, but it is also a couple of other variables as well.
Like, no Regional win was at the same event, and a couple other minor variables.
We tried to break the mold this year and win UTC again, but alas, fate was not with us.
Now we have The Championship event to look forward to though!!!
Here's to the Championship event!

And, here is looking to a regional win in 2006!!! lol

Re: Regional Winner Record

I believe that Metal in Motion won 4 in a row: 2 in 2001 and 2 in 2002.

I think that 4 in a row is second behind 254's 5 in a row.

Team 60 won 3 in a row, San Jose 2001, LA 2002, San Jose 2002

Are you going to make sure you go to another regional besides CT, NY, and NJ? To ensure the POSSIBILITY of continuing the streak. There are plenty of other east coast regionals for you to attend.

Oh, most definately. I would love to return to NJ again next year - nice general competition atmosphere, and then go to NH in 2006 to keep the superstition alive.

<rumor>
I hear there is the possibility of a Rochester NY regional in the not to distant future, so that may be another possibility as well.

Yes...I have heard about the "Finger Lakes Regional" in Rochester. Except what I heard was that it is actually happening next year and is in the planning process right now.

Thanks to everyone who's informed me of this. I never knew a team won more than say 3...heh.

Again; thanks all.
