Re: coolest robots

The coolest robots I have seen in person so far...

571, Paragon - I haven't seen a small ball pickup/delievery this effective since Lebanon in 2002.

173, RAGE - After UTC, I am a believer! They were abolutely lights out hanging, small ball pickup is awsome, and they corrected us when we tipped over! (Only fell 15 points short of winning the round after tipping).

121, Rhode Warriors - Dominating big ball robot, great bowling team.

176, Aces High - Once the drivers got over the learning curve for that arm, it became one very dangerous robot!

69, HYPER - Amazing suction cup design, great at hanging.

Good luck at Nats!

well Andy, who do you think we modeled it after? 95 gave us the idea, we just modified it a bit.

Re: coolest robots

i loved 190's design/autonomous mode
980 had a good bot
60's robot is awesome and their driver is very good at controlling their nasty fast drive system
MMR is in t-minus 3 days...i'm sure i'll have more to post by then

also...898 was cool. simplistic. they struck fear into the hearts of all

yeah and then they break first day of competition, and we have to use spares.

but on topic, 237, and 716 were great hangers, i liked the speed in which 716 got up and 237's defensive capabilities.

I also thought 571 had an awesome bot(big and little balls), congrats on the UTC win.

I also thougt 177 had a nice ball catcher, i remember seeing that they could normally catch a majority of the balls, from there side or the oponents.

these are just bots i remember from NJ and UTC.

Re: coolest robots

I would have to say 33. Their bot is quite unique. Not many teams concentrated on hearding extremely well as they did. I know our team was hoping we were allied with them at detroit.

Re: coolest robots

this is gonna be a long post, a lotta good bots out there..

peachtree regional

i'm disapointed that there haven't been any peachtree regional bots mentioned yet...i'll have too change that.

343/538-both bots did similar things, and did them well. they could both cap quickly and efficiently. 343 also had a real mean drive train.

1002/1057-our alliance partners, and they were two of the quickest and most dependable hangers there.

1371-thay may be rookies, but they had without a doubt, one of the most effective cappers at peachtree. also, interestingly enough, their robot is painted bright pink, their motto is 'think pink' and as of yet, are completly unaware of the existance of team 233. i smell a duel cooking....

494-probably one of the strongest robots there, in more ways then one. they could hang, cap, and lift other robots off the bar with their arm. their 6 motor drivetrain was insanely powerful, and combined with their step sliders, allowed them to take the 6-inch step like it was nothing

UCF regional

21-the only ball catcher i've seen, and i think with its swerve drive and capping arm, one of the best.

61/233-both very quick up the steps and very quick hangers

945/312/710/311- all designed to do the same things, all do them well, and all do them in a completly different manner. 945 has a beastly drivetrain strong arm. heatwave's arm is as versatile as ever, and is quick to hang. 710's hanging system/drivetrain/step climber is just down right cool. 311 almost always got the ten point ball in auto mode

179-probably the best big ball handler at UCF, and a simple yet speedy drive train too.

1083/180-these two holonomic bots were just downright awesome

1144-they've come a long way in a single year, and have a very effective ball collector

I would have to second RogerR. 494 has built awesome, yet simple, designs for the past two years. We have never been partnered up with them, but maybe in West Michigan in two weeks! I think that the Martians are definitely out of this world! I wish Goodrich the best of luck this year!

33 & 1114 both impress me... 33's herding is amazing and I wanted to build a robot like that this year. See you both in 9 days.
