Thanks to Teams 311 and 1114

On behalf of Team 229 - Division by Zero I want to thank Team 311 - Red Jammers and Team 1114 - Simbotics for selecting us to join their alliance and being such great alliance partners throughout the Long Island Regional Finals. Both of these teams have excelent robots and team members.

Thanks Again,

Eric

Re: Thanks to Teams 311 and 1114

Yeah!
We had an awesome time.

We were hanging out with Karthik, Ian and the rest of the 1114ers all weekend, and had a great time of it. So when we got the chance to join this AMAZING alliance in the finals we were absolutely thrilled. (Ask Karthik about the bearhug he got after the draft. )

So... thank you 311 and 1114.
We were very happy to be a part of this alliance, hopefully you guys are pleased with the results .

Simbots, goodluck in Toronto.

See you both in Atlanta.

We had a kickin time with you guys all weekend. I was so glad we had the oppertunity to pick you. I was glad to help you guys when ever I had time. I hope you get your extendo working for nationals.

Special thanks go out to 229 and 311. We really showed we were the #1 alliance at SBPLI. I feel privilaged to have had the opportunity to work with these two very experienced teams. Best of luck to both teams at Championship. See you there

Re: Thanks to Teams 229 and 311

Team 1114 was a tremendous help with stuff all weekend, providing us with assistance, and supplies, it really made a difference. Their bot and people are top notch.

The Extendo will be fine for Nationals 2 hours of quality time on Thursday and it will be better than ever, I just couldn't "cob" something together during the finals.....sorry bout that by the way, but the cable had to be cut to fit in box for the semi's.

Best of Luck to both 311 and 1114 for the rest of the season, it was a pleasure working with you.

Re: Thanks to Teams 311 and 1114

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The alliance of 311, 1114 and 229 was the best alliance I've ever worked with. Once 311 told me they were picking us with the first pick of the draft, I thought "wouldn't it be perfect if 229 slipped to the second round...". As soon as the 8th team didn't pick 229, I gave the look to both of our alliance captains and we all smiled. As they announced our selection of 229, I ran straight across the arena to John. My ribs are still recovering from the bear hug, but it was worth it.

Not only did we form an awesome robotics alliance, but it was just fun. From Thursday morning to Saturday night 229 and 1114 were always joking around and enjoy the whole event. There were so many little moments...

- Thursday morning they lent us a drill with a Robertson head (only available in Canada) when we realized we left the keys to our tool box at the Hotel.
- Telling 229 that I'm sending them an invoice for breaking our carbon fiber gripper (seriously, it's in the mail...).
- Convincing John to call Andy Baker so he could tell me why we should pick 229. (I got to talk to Andy Baker while he was on a pig farm...)
- All the trash talking and little jabs.

Plus numerous other little anecdotes. Thanks to John, Eric, Chris, Joel and everyone else on 229 for making the Long Island regional one of the best weekends of our robotics lives.

I can't wait to see all of you in Atlanta.

P.S. Someone post some pics, all mine are on a tradional camera.

Smile Re: Thanks to Teams 311 and 1114

As my other teammates have said, this alliance was awesome. The competition in the finals was tough, and the last 3 matches were some of the most exciting I've ever watched.
Thank you so much 1114 and 311 for helping 229 win our first regional. And thanks too the 1114 guys for all the "priceless looks" ;-) It made the regional one of the best I've ever been too.
Good luck at Nats you guys, we'll see you there!

Congrats to 311, 1114, and 229. It was great to hear from you guys after the win. The pigs were very happy that you won, also.

Props to all three teams, for making the finals definitely an interesting experience for my team (810). We never thought we'd make it quite that far, but we did, and we all had a great time.

Also, much thanks to 311 for their help during quals matches (that one match we had together was a lot of fun and worked so beautifully) as well as to JVN from 229 for helping to point out some of the issues with our robot.

This year's SBPLI Regional was definitely one of the most interesting regionals I have ever attended.
