Re: Congratulations to 1114 Simbotics

Now that I've slept for almost 40 hours with a couple two hour breaks mixed in, here are my thoughts on the Long Island regional.

The qualification rounds were quite exciting, with a huge battle occuring for the number one seed. In the end it was 311 who managed to come out on top of this struggle. We finished third, despite hanging in all ten of our matches. That's how tough the competition was on the Island.

The elimination rounds were fantastic. I think a lot of teams were caught off guard by the defensive strategy our alliance employed. I've always said the best offense is a good defense, and never has that statement been more apt than in Long Island. Team 229 were like the 1985 Chicago Bears, there was no forward progress against them. The crowd was stunned by how they controlled the field. This allowed 311 or 1114, to take control of the bar. We never lost a match in which 229 played.

Our alliance was an equal partnership. All three teams contributed to this victory.

All weekend long we loved talking to all the teams who took the time to come visit our pits. There were so many great teams and people at this event, we loved sharing our enthusiasm with everyone.

To sum it all up, Thanks to everyone who made this event what it was. Team 1114 had a great time, and we can't wait to do it again next year.

See you all in Toronto or Atlanta.. eh. =)
