Talking Most spirited team at a regional.

I was just curious, what would you say was the most spirited team at your respective regional. Granted the judges had their own opinions but this is your chance to voice yours. Yes you can say your own team but try to give some other teams credit.

In my opinion at the NJ regional, it had to be team 88 (TJ2) everytime you looked over they were shouting, and jumping and dancing, regardless of whether or not their team was on the feild.

At the Annapolis regional it was a hard choice, because due to the size of the venue, all you heard was cheers. I would have to declare it a tie between teams 222, 16. and 11. Those teams always cheered and shouted for their own robots as well as for the love of the game.

I can't wait until Palmetto, and to read your reponses. Good Luck to all

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

I would have to Say at NJ the most spirited team would be 869 powercord and at Cheasapeake it would be the Hawaii 5-10 team (although the hawiian shirts have been done)

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

5-10 always has good spirit. A very fun team indeed.

Also, the grundy team(388) always has great spirit in the pits. They always have an optomistic look on the robot, even when times are down.

From my view on the field, I'd have to say team 11 was the loudest team with the most presence, but I'd have to say the BBS (Baxter Bomb Squad) -- team 16 -- was very spirited throughout the competition. They cheered numerous amount of times for their team mates and oponents occasionally. Also, their competition team was very respectfull to us refs!

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

I have to disagree with you all about NJ.

I believe that 195 with their signs on a stick was the most "visible" in the graveyard we called the stands.

They were dancing all day every day in the stands.

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

To be honest I wasnt the one doing the cheering at Annapolis. I was the one being cheered for shall I say. Everytime I heard my team cheering before, during, and after the matches. I guess our team spirit has worn off after winning the National team spirit award and the Arizona team spirit award in 2003.

I guess its time to lets somebody else to the cheering....

HAPPY CHEERING!

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

Powercord 869 was pretty amazing--they all came dressed in Roman/Egyptian gear (Caesar and Cleopatra, I suppose), and their coaches were fully decked out...one had on full red robes and a horsehair helmet with sandals . They also had some pretty cool sticks with bottles of beans at the top for shaking/noisemaking...all in all quite cool.

Thanks! We moved up to the "balcony" section because it was darker and wanted to do more with the glow sticks -- unfortunately, the sound didn't carry too well from the bleachers, so our chants and cheers weren't heard as much. We had a great time, though!

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

Teams should really look out for 648 at Chi-town and Nationals, aka the Championship.

I was down in StLouis and saw a really enthusiastic team from my homestate of Tennessee. They were F.E.A.R. 547 from Fayetteville Tennessee if I am correct. They never ever ever ever stopped waving around their 547 signs. I just love the southern enthusiasm.

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

Well, I will say for Florida... at competition I was quite impressed by the spirit Ramtech (59) pulled out this year... they were off the chain. So was the team from Maryland I believe (but I can't remember their number). Both of those teams were just... nuts. It was really cool.

Re: Most spirited team at a regional.

i don't want to make my team sound better and all, but i'm not going to lie. we were the loudest team at chesapeake and one of the most spirited. like a prior post though, team 16 was also very spirited, i'd say it was a toss up between us two teams...

i have to agree in saying that 195 was always cheering at both nj and utc, whether they were up or not. ( they also start awesome conga lines )

tj^2 also were up cheering most of the time, and you gotta love their water jug drums and cheers at nj.

i think that team gus deserves a mention too for their great spirit idea at the utc regional. they let other teams come to their area and make signs for themselves. then members from 228 would go down and cheer with your sign whenever you had a match. i thought that was really cool of them.

overall, the spirit at nj and utc was awesome!
