When you get your 9 week report card and you are failing all of your classes.

When you get the name SLACKER even though you do some of the most work.

When you are sitting in a class, either dreaming or spacing out, about cool ideas that you could of done but you didnt

Re: You know you're addicted to FIRST when...

...You're in English class, you're bored, and you're on chiefdelphi looking for something to do. You go through all the forums only to realize...you've answered everything you can answer! You become sad that you are on chiefdelphi so much that you've run out of threads to post in!

...your English teacher catchs you on Chiefdelphi and goes "Oh...that robotics thing right? Oh ok..." (and she isn't involved in your team nor has she ever seen them)

...your English teacher knows more about your team mates and mentors then you do and she has never met them BUT she has read your voacabulary sentences which all have to do about your Robotics team...always.

...you've cried because your mom wouldn't let you go to your meeting since you were too sick to go.

...your calculus teacher, who is also your FIRST advisor, personally tutors you before every quiz so you won't get kicked off the team for failing.

...when typing, you automatically capitalize "first," whether you mean FIRST or not.

...you've seen marriages end because of a robot.

...there's too much snow to go to school... but not too much to go to the shop.

Re: You know you're addicted to FIRST when...

...when your able to build a website revolving around FIRST with in 2 hrs only b/c you can't find nothing else to do to pass the time quickly so that you can attend the regionals in less then a day and a quarter away

http://firstprojects.tripod.com

...when after reading Jordans post everything makes sense and is considered normal for 100% of all the teams participating.

...when you continue to pray that when you go to work later on today that the 8 hrs goes by quickly so you could rush home and prepare for thursdays practic and the qualifying matches.

A real good one !

...when you start rearranging the amount of views this particular thread has had to form an alliance pair or to try and see how many teams you can come up with before moving onto the next thread !

Re: You know you're addicted to FIRST when...

when your obsession with robotics and your habit of talking about it all the time, and dragging friends to competitions eventually drives your girlfriend to want to join the team and learn how to build a robot.

when you talk about things on chief delphi so much your now-robotics-enthusiast girlfriend decides to browse around, and starts picking up FIRST jargon and using it in conversation, or emailing you links to funny threads.

Re: You know you're addicted to FIRST when...

... when someone is complaing to you that they only got 4 hours of sleep the night before and you are jealous

.. when you get a test back that you wrote the day after build season (okay so i fell asleep through it .. but i had to be there) and you get a 7/30 and your teacher's comments are: "i hope your robot does better than you did on this test"

.. when you go to your bio class to tell your teacher you cant stay because you have robotics and he says "your robot better do well" and when you are leaving he says "ill see you next time you decide to stay for a full class"

... when your msn picture is your robot (it used to be the FIRST logo until i got my pics back ... ill upload the pic here when i get a chance ... )

... when a non-robotics friend sees said picture and you end up talking about FIRST for 3 hours instead of studying for physics
