I wouldn't count on it. The patterns to solve all the rubik's cubes become much much longer as they become bigger...you have to make more moves to switch two squares and whatnot making the patterns much harder to remember. There are also more patterns to remember. I used to know how to solve the 3x3 cube. And the patterns were to switch certain squares on one side with another square on another side while leaving the rest of the cube in the same pattern. There are exponentially more patterns like this as the cube gets bigger. It is also just plain harder to keep track of all the squares and colors due to having 216 individual squares on the 6x6 cube compared to 81 on the 3x3 cube. It is just overall much harder to solve a 6x6 rubik's cube.

PS - If Julie wanted to do it, she could find the patterns online before Nats and bring them with her !

Wow, yet another reason I'm sorry we didn't go to 2 regionals this year.

But I'll be sure to check this out at Nats. I want a try at stumping her. Really, I'm super intrigued.

HI! It's Julie!
No, I cannot solve a 4x4x4, 5x5x5, or 6x6x6 Rubik's cube. I don't have any of them yet. I'm planning on getting them in the near future to expand my cubing expertise. I will more than likely be in Atlanta stumping people there. Hope to see all you guys there!

thats nothing big... last year a few of my friends and I all spent one of our classes learning the steps to solving the cube... within a week we could all do it within 1:30... its simple formula's

the rubix cube (as many people have attested to already) is nothing more than a pattern...it always behaves in a certain manner and so learning specific moves for switching specific pieces will allow you to solve it....the really hard part is speed....i usually hit about 2 mins flat every time...some people memorize the cube and can move pieces without thinking about it....eg the rubix pimp

he just memorized and solved the same as the rest of us....so julie with her less than 2 minutes has perfected moving fast....although she probably uses the same moves we all do

*bows* i have to say tho that under 2 minutes every time is awesome and i would love to be able to rubix that fast....i spend school time doing the cube instead of real work

It may be a few simple formulas, but i was still amazed by julie. i got flustered enough just trying to stump her , there's no way i could solve the cube with the clock just ticking away! She could also multi-task- at one point she was singing a song, and watching a match while she solved the cube in under two minutes! it was crazy!

And for those of you who think solving a cube is easy, Team 237 will be running Stump Julie races. You and she will race, Julie.. I mean.. the winner takes all.

Even still, out of 67 people.. or more.. Who tried at the UTC regional.. None of them have stumped her.

I feel so special! And yes, as Trina said I will race anyone who is willing. Also congrats to Meghan and Talon from 121 for getting the only two times over two minutes! Great job, guys! I'll see everyone at Nationals!
