[EDITx2]That had to be one of the best matches.. Techno Ticks and Cyber Knights Vs. Killawatts and BOP (4 highest ranked teams at the time, i think) And oh yeah, 236 did help corral alot of balls, they just tipped when they went to hang.[/EDITx2]

Oh yeah!!! In the 61st match at the Midwest Regional we scored 125 points when our alliance partner 1163 couldnt make it, although their HP was there to help (GO MIKE!!!) I'm just kidding, great job by your team for being able to score that many points alone. I just want to wish good luck to all the teams that will be at a Regional this weekend, maybe you will be able to score even HIGHER by yourself!!! And for those teams that have no Regional to go to this weekend, I hope we see you at Nationals!!!!!!!!

here's an interesting spin off to a new thread idea...What is the greatest elimination alliance that has actually ever occured since they started alliances?

340
67
1126

Undefeated in eliminations. Also got the highest score in nation - 220 It worked great because 340 (alliance caption) let us (67) in every match because we could handle the large balls very well, and can hang. Our parter would hang, and we'd cap the goal and try to hang. It was a great alliance.

Thanks 340 and 1126! We functioned as a perfect team.

There was a reason we let you guys play in every match. OFFENSE! You guys are fast, powerful, you can score, & hang. In the 220pt match, to watch your driver cap the mobile goal (nice pat down), drive across the field, steal the cap off the other mobile goal, cap our stationary goal, & still have time to drive over & hang all in 1:15… Awesome.

*cough* we got 150, twice!!!!!*cough*

I think 16 is an amazing capper.
224 has an amazing drive, the 12.5's and three 6" to climb in the back. Wicked fast too. Very cool bot.
There are many others, I saw only a few.

Re: coolest robots

When I saw 67 in action, I just felt "duh!" As if there was any more perfect way to play this years game, I don't know what it is.

Knowing we couldn't beat them, we joined them. It was beautiful.

And I can't wait until next year, when I can tell the students, "Now think about how 67 designed their bot last year. How would HOT do this?"

A little background?
I haven't seen HOT in action this year. A description of their play/function would be nice. (All I've seen are blurry pictures.)

Thanks,
John

Here's a good picture.

Hang off the side, wedge shape, great big ball controls, reliable autonomous mode. Fantastic all around.
