Oh yeah!!! In the 61st match at the Midwest Regional we scored 125 points when our alliance partner 1163 couldnt make it, although their HP was there to help (GO MIKE!!!) I'm just kidding, great job by your team for being able to score that many points alone. I just want to wish good luck to all the teams that will be at a Regional this weekend, maybe you will be able to score even HIGHER by yourself!!! And for those teams that have no Regional to go to this weekend, I hope we see you at Nationals!!!!!!!!

340
67
1126

Undefeated in eliminations. Also got the highest score in nation - 220 It worked great because 340 (alliance caption) let us (67) in every match because we could handle the large balls very well, and can hang. Our parter would hang, and we'd cap the goal and try to hang. It was a great alliance.

Thanks 340 and 1126! We functioned as a perfect team.

Re: coolest robots

At the Buckeye Regional i liked team 340's bot. They went un-defeated and their bot was very practical. Great job guys!! I also enjoyed team 1317's bot their bot went under the ball shoot during autonomous and caught all of the balls that where released. finally team 211's bot theirs went next to the bar during autonomous and raised its arm and as soon as the human controll mode started the grabed the bar from the side and pulled them selves up

Re: coolest robots

I don't remember the team number, but they went by the PVC Pirates this year. I saw the robot at the BAE Manchester Regional this season. Their robot was build out of PVC and it looked like a pirate ship. They even had a Jolly Rober flag on the top. When they opened the ship up, they could catch all the balls that dropped (unless they were pushed away from the dropper by a team with a strong motor system--cough cough 134 cough cough ) They looked really cool and they were very well themes--the whole team was dressed like pirates and they all had eyepatches and pirate's gold to give out too.

*cough* we got 150, twice!!!!!*cough*

I think 16 is an amazing capper.
224 has an amazing drive, the 12.5's and three 6" to climb in the back. Wicked fast too. Very cool bot.
There are many others, I saw only a few.

Re: coolest robots

I loved 279's bot. I love when it folds up to the top of the bar like a clam shell and spreads it's arms out to keep others from hanging.
Way cool!

Re: coolest robots

173, 71, 66 in 2002

173 = killer ball control
66 = undeniable goal control
173 + 66 = Arbitrarily large score

71 = All your goal are belong to Beatty
66 = stop Beatty from turning

71 + 66 = good times

Basically, our robot was the perfect compliment to theirs. Whichever robot needed to go out, we could back them up.

The west coast gets no love... I havent heard hardly anyone not from out here mention our bots, with the exception of 254 and 60. Watch SVR this weekend, and see what we're all about

Cory

P.S. My offer of 6 pack of Dew to anyone who wants to bet me the high score of 220 will be beaten at SVR is still standing!

Re: coolest robots

Oh my gosh there are so many great robots, i loved 279's robot, it was so cool to see it hang. And there was the big "walking" robot at the buckeye regionals that was cool to see it move. I don't seem to be recalling number, does someone else remember? There are way way way too too too many good robots.

Re: coolest robots

When I saw 67 in action, I just felt "duh!" As if there was any more perfect way to play this years game, I don't know what it is.

Knowing we couldn't beat them, we joined them. It was beautiful.

And I can't wait until next year, when I can tell the students, "Now think about how 67 designed their bot last year. How would HOT do this?"

There was a reason we let you guys play in every match. OFFENSE! You guys are fast, powerful, you can score, & hang. In the 220pt match, to watch your driver cap the mobile goal (nice pat down), drive across the field, steal the cap off the other mobile goal, cap our stationary goal, & still have time to drive over & hang all in 1:15… Awesome.
