Buckeye Regional - Something wrong with this picture!! & update

I'm watching the web broadcast.. and something a little strange is going on..

In the quarter-finals, they are saying only the alliance that wins the first match has to switch their partners, but the losing alliance can keep it the same?

i.e. there are teams that haven't played in the matches.. This is definitely contrary to the rules.. and it isn't the way it worked at all in VCU (basically, who ever didn't play in the 1st match must go in the 2nd for BOTH alliances).

Anyone know what's going on? Someone interpreting the rules wrong out there? What about the other regionals.. what was the ruling?

And update as of right now:

Top seeds:
1. 67 - 68 - 302
2. 229 - 47- 254
3. 859 - 469 - 201
4. 291 - 45 - 247
5. 240 - 274 - 1
6. 135 - 448 - 519
7. 872 - 963 - 94
8. 234 - 892 - 48

QF1:
67 - 68 - 302 win vs. 234 - 892 - 48

OF2:
291 - 45 - 247 win vs 274 - 240 - 1

OF3:
229 - 47 - 254 win vs 872 - 963 - 94

OF4:
859 - 469 - 201 win vs 135 - 448 - 519

In the semis-

right now it's 45 & 291 vs 67 & 68

45 is dragging 68 and a goal around..

but 67-68-302 win 23 to 21!!

back to watching...

Colleen,

Long Island was the same as VCU and KSC last week. The team on the sidelines in the first round had to go out in the second round. Definitely a difference in officiating if Ohio had what you dscribed.

Also, as an observation on Long Island and at KSC the officials were letting quite a variety of "home" devices get by. There was more than one instance of a "mousebot" with a cable tether. To me this seemed very different than what was implied by FIRST in their updates and on the FRCtech forum on Yahoo.

Good Luck in San Jose!

See you in Florida
