Question Quick Q about how divisions work

Hi all.

Simple question: Each division plays out like its own regional, with 3 teams as finalists. Do the finalists of each division then go onto another tournament betwen division finalists? What about division semifinalists? What awards are the for these positions if any?

Thanks for answering the queries of a noob.

Re: Quick Q about how divisions work

Four divisions, four divisional winners.

It all comes down to a "Final Four" event between these teams, and they usually have this "Final Four" matchup on the main stage, which is the Einstein Stage.

The Einstein stage is now just for opening and closing ceremonies, and the Final Four playoffs.

Einstein used to have it's own division and teams I believe, but that was stopped a couple years ago. (I think.)

As for awards, the Regioal Woodie Flowers Award winners, the Regional Chairman's Award winners move on and one is selected out of that bunch for a Championship Event WFA and Chairman's award winner.

I think, don't quote me on this, but I think that there are other awards given out such as Divisional winners for all four divisions.

I'm not sure if Spirit, Quality, and other such awards are given out on a divisional basis(4 each), or a Championship basis (1 each), or if they are given out at all at the Championship Event. I don't recall that part, usually I am running late to the awards cerimony.

I do know, that last year they played a Final Four match, and then gave out an award, and repeated this process till all awards were given out and we had a Championship event winning alliance.
This gave the team's time to set up for the next match while the Award was given out. I hope they do it that way again this year seeing as that way of doing it worked very smoothly as far as I could tell last year in Houston.

Pretty much, you play each division like a normal regional. You get a winner (one team) in each division.
Then, the 4 division winning teams play a "Finals" bracket for the overall championship.
You should be able to go here:
http://www2.usfirst.org/2004comp/7-T...evC-markup.pdf
and it shows the bracket.
Winner of Div A plays Div B... and Div C plays Div D... then winners of those two games play each other for the final winner.

Hope that helps.
Don't know about the awards though.
