retro reflector

I am interested to know how many (if any at all) are using the scanners and retro reflectors in this years game. I have not heard anyone talk about this at all. I am guessing that not many teams have implemented such a device. If your team DID use the scanners, how are you using them??

One team *has* them, but none uses them at VCU. All bots use a baskit system or a "grab the goal then shoot" idea and system.

Actually the team that had them did use them... however the few times the shooter actually tracked a goal it almost always missed because they dident do any triangulation to determine the distance to the goal, so their motor for throwing the balls ran at a constant speed usually throwing the balls off the field..

At the bottom of our code is a little section that should, theoretically, find the center of the goal using the sensor and guide our Sickle of Death into the goal. Unfortunately, this section is commented out, as we never tested it and never mounted the sensor on our robot.

i saw that the reflectors were really torn up, especially the ones on the 2nd plywood platform. Wouldn't that mess the sensor up?

At the Johnson & Johnson Mid-Atlantic Regional team 176 Aces High, had the sensors on their robot...they were not hooked up, but I think they were planning on using them at a goal guidance system, where it would basically drive automatically to the goal...If anyone knows any more about this please include it becuase I might not have all of the info
