Re: FIRST FANTASY DRAFT

Ed,

As a note I refer future picks to JVN's list following the original list I submitted.
Being home for Easter and back to dial-up will ensure I will have a hard time taking part in this draft live.

Thanks,

Re: FIRST FANTASY DRAFT

WOW, unfortunately I was gone most of the day, and could not watch as this CHOAS unfolded. Well, it's 2:30 AM and I just read through all of this thread.

Thanks Ed, for keeping it on track and putting so much work into it.

Here is my opinion:

This is BS. There need to be more rules about trades. For someone to get the #1 and #2 picks in the draft is Wrong. You could argue that he did some wheelin' and dealin' for it, but it is still wrong. I know I was approached by Jones571 (Corey) for a trade, AND I WASN?T EVEN HOME! My sister called me up and wanted to know if I would trade 469 to Corey. After finding out that he had 571 AND 33, I offered 469 to him for 571 and a shirt (or something to that effect). It was a trade that I knew he would not take because it's ridiculous, as are many of the trades that have taken place.
I cannot believe people are trading their teams away for a few sodas. I thought everyone was more serious about this, but I guess I was wrong. I know that I planned to keep the teams I drafted, unless someone offered me a trade that involved, at least, another robot.

Maybe I am taking this Fantasy league too seriously, but that is part of the fun to me. You should use your knowledge of the players (robots) to achieve the best score, not use salesmanship and bribery to 'buy' all the good players.

I almost find it unfair to the rest of the people that were not at the computer all day trying to trade, because they had other obligations to fill. I thought everyone was going to have an equal chance, but that does not seem to be the case, to me.

I would like to help as much as possible next year to keep things balanced. I am not blaming any one person for this, I realize that this is the first attempt at it, and generally, it is a success. I think everyone learned a lot about how games like this run, and I would like to see more structure and rules next year. I would be happy to help set them up, or do anything I can.

Again, thank you Ed and everyone for keeping track of the madness today and keeping it focused.

Could you start another thread tomorrow for the second round?

Re: FIRST FANTASY DRAFT

I know some people have posted things like this but for those who missed yesterday's draft and don't feel like reading through all the posts, here is a spreadsheet that has what teams are left, what teams are picked, and who has picked what. Despite ".xls" being a valid attachment, this will not open if you try it. To view it, download it to your desktop or something then open up excel and open the file (first you have to allow it to open all files when browsing). I will be posting this occasionally, and please let me know if I have messed a few people's teams up so I can change them for next time.

Re: FIRST FANTASY DRAFT

What makes me angry about this, is, the kids who are not even at their computers get all the good teams, it should have been you get a RANDOM number, Idea for next year i think. Cause all my top 50 were gone and most of them directly from the people not at their computers. Also i think no trades next year, its like a scam. I bet these kids dont give half the stuff they said they would, its all a joke to them.......

I don't mind trades but I think I won't allow a person to have two picks in a round.
And they will get "the best team available" to do otherwise is to show favortism. And as league commisioner I am not allowed to do that.

Re: FIRST FANTASY DRAFT

The spreadsheet below is the current top 50 teams based on the sheet originally posted by, well I think JVN but i can't find the post right now, (teams sorted by AVG. qualification pts.), and the just posted list of teams that have / haven't been picked.

I will say that there have been easter eggs (hidden wonders) brought to my attention, however, I will not post these team #'s.

could somebody repost the order for round 3, i've been searching through pages and can't find it anywhere...

Re: FIRST FANTASY DRAFT

I'll bet a dew with someone that Jones571 doesn't win no matter who he gets for his 3rd pick.

He tried to trade for 67 with me, also. If he had offered me a reasonable deal, I would have gone for it. But he was essentially trying to trade me his second round pick for my first round pick.

I feel that this game is 80% luck and 20% skill, considering how many people have entered. That's why I don't care who trades with who.
