Looks like your robot belongs more in a gymnastics competition!
That's definitely the highest I've seen one get.

from the picture in the firstrobotics.net gallery, it apears that it is connecyed to a claw which is lowered on a cable, allowing them to grab multiplier balls with it. and since there arm is on a turret that looks like it can rotate a full 360 degrees, they can probably grab balls from a well placed mobile goal too. in my mind, this robot does what 190 does, only more so.

I didn't think that you guys were going to be and atlanta, but i'm very pleased to find out that i was wrong. i'll definatly have to stop by the pit for a closer look.

p.s. am i correct in assuming that this is M. Krass's "mystery" team?

Does it still require 12 people to remove it from the field?

heh, on another note, how's it been working out so far? Care to give out a few more juicy secrets on how it works exactly (hanging, etc.)?

Re: what we hope to do at atlanta...

yes, we are madison's "mystery team", and we indeed will be at atlanta because we prequalified. all i can say is "winch itself up to the bar and lock itself"... just look for us in the black shirts. we are a pretty big team, 25+ college/high school...

ummm, if i remember correctly, didn't your team take like 8 people to put it onto the bar, since the hanging mechinism didn't work.

Re: what we hope to do at atlanta...

haha, i never said anything about how well it worked. but indeed, we did not hang at PNW, instead we focused on fixing the arm so that it would perform more reliably atlanta. it was a strategic decision, because obviously the robot can only be worked on at the competitions -- we could've tried to win regionals but then would never have a chance at nats, or give up PNW and hope to shine at nats... the picture was taken in a practice session, and the robot actually did hang that high by itself... we're keeping our fingers crossed that it'll do so in atlanta.

Looks great in the picture. Were you able to hang at all in Atlanta? I was looking for videos of your robot, and couldn't find any of you hanging.
