Re: coolest mascot

There are always a lot of great mascots at the Great Lakes regional. I believe my favorite is always the big stick of dynamite with the big fists (Team 280 (TnT)).

Re: coolest mascot

Did the cat's have the big mascot heads or not? Also, did they have a Texan accent? The Leopards were up there freezing and stuff. We looked a lot like the Jaguar team that was also there.

We are working on a mascot that will hopefully be revealed in atlanta, but I would also like to say that the metal moose was pretty sweet at the philly regional.

Re: coolest mascot

The "What the Heck is it?" Mascot Award must go to Torch from Team 1006 up in Canada. They are the ones who have the person wearing the giant red and white (papier mache?) sprocket/gear thing with the big blue acetylene/oxygen tanks on its back. It looks like a bad guy from a Super Mario Bros. game or a Pokemon reject. I bet it's the widest mascot in FIRST too. Someone should tape a Wide Load banner to its rear end!

I salute you, Mr. (Ms. ?) Team 1006 Mascot Operator for not maiming yourself or others while expertly maneuvering that gigantic, cool, and unmistakably unique behemoth around the competition arena!

No other mascot has anything on team 1006. The Gear with the torch is awsome. Plus they are from Canada.

I was wondering about that bee costume. It DID seem small. Ha Ha

Also at Chesapeake was the giant soup can. You had to admire the guy who had to wear that around all day. (The team was sponsored by Campbell's, by the way).

Re: coolest mascot

There are many awesome mascots out in the World, but I have to say our mascot (which did not com to nationals) was the coolest. Where else would you find a penguin in a toga besides at a FIRST competition? Anyway, It's awesome. Check our website for an illistration.

Re: coolest mascot

id have to say.. the PINK one was pretty cool.. there were a few others but i forgot their numbers.. i liked ours (of course) as well.. he was well spirited and almost every one of our rounds he managed to get on the playing field and go all out and introduce the teams and do crazy stuff.. the VCU regional has been famous for our mascot as well, we usually have little kids (wont mention who..lol) following him and stuff...
