Dave Verbrugge: Einstein MC

So I felt the need with the threads of all of the other Championship emcee's to make one for Dave. He is an incredible emcee and I would like to extend my appreciation to such a great guy. So here's some of my favorite reasons that Dave rocks as an emcee, please feel free to tell your own.

1. As we drive to competitions, he looks at exit numbers and says which team they are.
2. Dave can and does do headstands while announcing the teams.
3. He cares so much and is so involved in FIRST that both he and his wife are very involved in it.

So I've started off the list. Anyone else, please feel free to add, I'm sure that there are many more reasons!

He wears that funny ponytail and the button vest to be like woodie.

He uses a lot of detail when he announces teams.

Dave is an example that all MC's should follow. Even before the championship matches he had me getting info about the teams. He is the most prepared FIRST person that I know and I have found it to be an honor to announce when he is MCing. Dave you are the best (no offence to Blair who is the best announcer and 2nd best MC).

The blues brothers bit cracked me up. I was most impressed, though, by how much he knew about the teams, reciting lots of info about each one from memory alone.

he was a great emcee and those matches were amazing, I enjoyed watching all of them. as much as i could from where i was seated. Dave was very descripitve and informative.

but 1 thing scares me ... and thats JVN's post becuase he was too vague which means he hid some secret message in there

Dave is the man! We did't go to nationals and win newton to basque in the glory but simply to see dave again. He's awesome at buckeye and feels like a part of our team. DAVE THE SPARX LOVE YOU! We can't wait to see you again next year at buckeye then einstein!! Dave keep up the good work and we'll see ya next year!!

He knows more about most FIRST teams than I have ever seen. He keeps the energy of the crowd high and makes the FIRST events more exciting than they already are. Mostly, he knows how to have a good time, and we in FIRST love that.

Such an awesome thread! Dave is such an AMAZING MC. He knows so much and introduces teams so well. He has such a great voice for announcing! What's even better is he loves FIRST and you can tell that when he emcees. WAY TO GO DAVE!

Why is Dave THE best MC? Because he enjoys the event, he gets the crowd excited, he knows the backgroud of all the teams, and he gives us lots of facts about the teams he's introducing.

Dave made the finals SO MUCH FUN! The way he seemed to know the entire history of each team was amazing, add to the fact his Woodie and Blues Brothers outfits
