I bet if we got like 15 great teams from FIRST we could build a robot that would domiate all others. Plus, there wouldn't be a weight limit so it would have endless limits of what we could put on it. O YEAH I know we could build a bot that would completely dominate all others.
![]() I would have to say that some of the 15 would be: MOE of course, team 25, WPI, Beattie Last edited by MOEmaniac : 21-04-2004 at 13:31. |

Re: The return of Battlebots?
Or, even better...loot from the older robots and create a superheavyweight multibot (like the makers of Voltronic, Nightmare, and Das Bot (iirc) did with The Swarm, as seen on www.robotcombat.com).
I'd be afraid to see what SPAM and ComBBAT could cook up if they were allowed to go nuts. Both had pretty solid designs and a rabid fan base! |

Re: The return of Battlebots?
Yea! get, like, 5 teams together and make a super bot ran by 3 people. We take the controllers and daisy-chain them together (TTL->Com). Then, like, totally trump competition with gyro-assisted steering, ultimate drivetrains (Steel sprockets!), untippable bots (ballast on a servo), and use the EDUs as child bots. It'd be SO SWEET!
![]() Plus, the most advnaced controller they use is the PBASIC setup from InnovationFIRST. MAJOR REVENGE  Am I getting too vicious? [And if some one seriously does this, I can program it in my spare time. Errr...]Last edited by Astronouth7303 : 23-04-2004 at 14:03. |

Building a robot is easy. Building a competitve robot is much more difficult. We won't be competing even though it is just a few hours away. My job has me out of town the entire week when safety and preliminaries would be occuring. Working for a living really cuts into my free time. I would be happy to work with any team that can put together a decent plan. Part of the mentoring would be to help understand what works and what doesn't work. Like keeping the expensive stuff deep inside, shock mounted, and protected! Re: The return of Battlebots?
I know that there are teams in jersey that are just a few hours away from each other. 11 ;-), 25, 303, 103, 56, 1302, throw in teams from surrounding areas like PA you add in 222, 341...and those are just the teams from off the top of my head.
Just think of the publicity we would get if we were to build a bot as a FIRST group and put their "big dogs" to rest? |
