Re: pic: FIRST deck of cards

euchre....

Its a game that is played in the midwest. And most people who don't live in the midwest but know of the game think it is only in retirement homes (which is not entirely false). But really, it is a fun game. I will be at IRI, and will teach anyone who wants to learn

Re: pic: FIRST deck of cards

I think euchre is the coolest game ever and everyone should learn euchre.

I remember last year when i used to play euchre everyday during lunch at school, it was great.

I would definitely be willing to teach/play anyone at IRI. I think that a euchre tournament would be awesome!!!

Btw the cards are great!!!

Re: pic: FIRST deck of cards

Rob and I started right when we got to the pits first thing Friday morning. We just spent the day walking the pits and going to matches. All of the kids on the team knew our robot up and down and they didn't need much help running system checks or fixing problems. Most of them were first year students and became very proficent rather quickly.

So since 45, 65, and 111 were right next to us we got Raul, Ken Patton, and Andy Baker to sign them right away. Mike Norton, Dr. Joe, Mr. Bill, and Al Skierkiewicz (he was inspecting) were all around the pit area. Basically if you continuously walk every row of pits for the whole day you will eventually see just about everyone. We saw Brian Beatty, Mike Martus, and Christopher Husmann in the pits, two mentors from RAGE on our way to watch a match, found Andy Grady in Curie, and corralled JVN, Chris C., Joel, and Karthik in 229's pit. Some people like Woody and Dave Lavery were out on the fields and we had to get some help in acquiring those. Other than that it's just having the time to wander the pits. It was a lot of fun hunting all these cool people down. Definitely one of my favorite FIRST experience.

-Tom

Re: pic: FIRST deck of cards

You know there are still a few cards that remain unsigned. I was so busy on Saturday that I did not have the opportunity to fill out the entire deck. I will bring the deck to all summer competitions that 121 is attending. If you want to add your signature or just peruse the cards that would not fit in the photo, just find me. It would be an honor to have your signature on these cards, but they will fill up fast, there are only about 12 spots left!! See you all this summer!

Rob

Re: pic: FIRST deck of cards

I See Dean Kamen, Dave Lavery, Andy Baker, John V. Neun, Amanda Morrison, Ken Patton, Mr. Bill?, Liz, Calef, Kristen J. Kelso, Colleen Shaver?, Brandon Martus, David Ferriera, Joel Johnson, Paul D. Capioli, Rick Blight, Bria Beatty??, D.J. Fluck.

Some of you guys have good hand writing. Others well, you got hand writing similar to an MD. hehe j/k.

Question has probably been asked already but you printed all the cards with the FIRST Logo or just the Ace of Spades in which Dean signed his name upon!!??

The FIRST logo on the ace of spades looks a lot like a sticker to me.

Re: pic: FIRST deck of cards

The Aces of Spades came with the FIRST logo on it, so no, its not a sticker. All the decks come like that.
