**FIRST EMAIL**/LEGO MARS ROVER SPECIAL OFFER

Greetings Teams:

Through a special arrangement with the LEGO Company, members of the FIRST Community can purchase this model of the Mars Exploration Rovers $@# which initially retailed for $89.99 $@# for only $44.99 (plus $4.95 Regular Shipping & Handling).

Explore the planet Mars!

Be part of the 2003 FIRST LEGO League Mars mission by building your very own Mars Exploration Rover! This detailed LEGO replica is modelled after the Spirit and Opportunity rovers that have explored the surface of the red planet (and the rover used in the FIRST LEGO League 2003 Mission Mars Challenge).

The LEGO Mars Rover was developed in cooperation with The Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) in Pasadena, California and is based on the original rover drawings.

The twin Mars Rovers made history in early 2004, and you can create your own today! Includes 858 LEGO pieces, building instructions and a colorful inspiration booklet discussing the Mars Exploration Rover missions.

To redeem your special (FIRST Community) discount, you must enter a special code on the LEGO online shop. Follow these steps to activate your discount:

1. Visit the LEGO online shop quick order

2. In the item number box, enter 7471 and the quantity of sets you would like to order.

3. In the Enter Catalog Code section, enter one of these following codes:

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/LEGO MARS ROVER SPECIAL OFFER

Is anyone allowed to order these? I've seen the model, and it's very cool...I'd love one, but I don't know if I'm supposed to use those codes are not.

Do you have to be actively involved in Lego League? Is being on a FIRST team good enough?

One more question: Would anyone mind giving me, say, $45 or so?

I would assume since he did say "members of the FIRST Community" that any of us are allowed to use these codes. (What would be the point of him posting if we couldn't?) This seems like a very cool Lego model, and I might have to get one this summer...hmmmmm

Of course it would be a lot better if I could get my hands on this:

for $45

Legos 1:1 Scale Model

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/LEGO MARS ROVER SPECIAL OFFER

Sorry but I highly doubt that the model that Clark posted is for sale. I am sure that if it was it would cost more $$$ than anyone would be willing to pay!

Here is what the discounted model looks like
