**FIRST BLAST**/New Scholarship Opportunities

Greetings Teams:

FIRST is proud to announce two more new scholarship opportunities for 2004. The deadline for application is coming up soon, so please pass along this important information to your team and encourage them to take advantage of these great offerings.

Mercedes-Benz USA is pleased to launch its new national program, DRIVE YOUR FUTURE: The Mercedes-Benz USA Scholarship Program. Twenty (20) DRIVE YOUR FUTURE scholarships (worth $2,000 each) are available to eligible FIRST participants. Graduating students from U.S. high schools, who are the first generation in their families to attend college, are invited to apply. Students will be evaluated based on academic achievement, financial need, leadership and participation in school and community activities. Application deadline is May 31, 2004.

City College of New York

In partnership with FIRST, The City College of New York / CUNY has established two (2) scholarships to benefit talented students who have participated on a FIRST team in high school and would like to attend The City College of New York / CUNY. Students of any major are invited to apply, and those expecting to declare science, math or engineering majors are especially encouraged. Recipients of this award will receive a scholarship for four years of study at City College, provided they continue to qualify. Students must meet the academic and other requirements for admission to City College as stipulated. Application deadline is May 31, 2004.

Full details on these and other scholarships can be found at http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/2004...hipsummary.htm
