Re: 10 ten plays of the year

i agree that people are proud of thier proformances this year but this is a top 10 overall and it is very biased to say that your team is one of the best...if it was one of the best someone besides yourself will nominate you....so lets keep the self nominations out of this....thanks

The team you're missing there is 1388. I'm glad somebody thought this match was awesome other than us. It was sooooo tense in those last few seconds, because nobody knew if Buzz could keep that 2X in there.

Galileo Semifinal 2.1, it was the alliances of 64, 222, 1405 and 27, 177, 365.

222 got tipped, and 365 capped to tie the match at 50 with 30 seconds left. 365 proceeded to heard one ball to their human player, who with 9 seconds left, DRILLED it into the mobile goal that was still sitting in it's original position in the center of the field, 24 feet away.

you can see the guy in the background, looking disgusted, thinking "OMFG!, how did he just make that?"

As a human player myself, I can tell you that was a beautiful shot. Beautiful. And for the record, the guy in the background was actually 222's coach at Chesapeake and Philadelphia, I guess he was a volunteer at Nat's so he couldn't be the coach. You sure can bet he was rooting for 222's alliance..

props to Hazz-Matt for such a perfect shot...

I just keep replaying those final seconds because that was truely one of the best shots I saw this whole year. And what a way to end your senior year on the team, by making a shot 24 ft. away and winning the match with that shot. I wonder if anyone has a shot of my team as that ball went into the goal because all you would see is a huge bright green blob arise out of the stands.

That shot was one of the prettiest i've seen this year. Although I do remember another team getting a mobile goal shot off, at the buzzer. This play was glorious nonetheless

Re: 10 ten plays of the year

Not to be outdone by Ein,

That was definitely the best match at the Sacramento regional. Final score was 210-125. The robots on the bar are 254, 753, 945, and 1120.

how could i forget this match it saved our alliance (1126,67,340) from being eliminated and not raching the nat'l semi-finals

The opponents realized they had messed up dearly, but instead of giving up, they moved to the gap between the sides of the platform and the edge railing. 1405 met up with the opponents about half field, and then one of the best shoving matches i've seen took place. 1405 would eventually stop driving for some reason(i think a chain broke, but i dont really know). Although this set-back, 1405 would eventually win Chesepeake. The shoving match along the wall was possibly the best play in the whole regional.
it was 1403, not 1405. 1405 was a real quick hanger only...

Agreed. I was watching this match from home and I was jumping up and down as the match was ending. INTENSE!! First of all I was amazed by 190 haning in autonomous!! That is some brilliant programming. But what a great move by the drivers to try to block 175's cap while hanging from the bar!! However 175 was relentless and jammed their almost uncapped ball in those last few intstants. That has to be one of the top 10 plays. Ditto about being speechless!

Gotta agree--that was about as exciting as I had seen! We had a similar situation in the BAE quarterfinals, but in that case we prevailed against 157. Buzz was tenacious and extremely well controlled--we needed about 5 more seconds to remove the doubler! Here's a link to the video: http://www.soap.circuitrunners.com/2.../cur_qf2m2.wmv

Final score? Red 30, Blue 60. The crowd went nuts.

If ANYONE has a video of this match I would pay to have it. I was the driver and that was one of my best moments of my life. Like I said if any team from that Regional has Q32 with 348 taking 2 robots by itself I eould really appreaciate it. Driver--Team 348
