Uploading a white paper

I've been attempting to upload a whitepaper onto the forums, and recieve this error message. The thing is, it definitely is a word file, which should be supported. If anyone knows my problem, an answer would be appreciated.

Your file has no mime-type, for some reason. Try zipping it up and uploading, as a short-term work around. I've got to figure out why the mime-type isn't being sent. What browser & version are you using?
