Arrow Flash Competion Pit Timer

For those of you that attended the NYC Regional, if you would have walked on over to Team 810's pit area, you would have seen that on a laptop we were running a nice-looking timer that counts down to our next match, making it easy for anyone - team members, scouts, judges - to be able to tell at a glance when our next match is and approximately how much time is left.

Well, the response that I got from making this flash program was extremely positive, so I decided to spice it up a bit and make it available to anyone who wants it.

Basically this program is a Macromedia Flash file that runs full screen and in a neat format, displays the current time, the time of your teams next match, and a count-down to it. When the time left gets to a certain (adjustable) point, the program starts to blink the time left and a warning message to get your attention and cause you to finish your repairs and get on the queue line.

At the NYC Regional, we ran it on a laptop that we placed on our pit table and voila! Everyone on the team always knew exactly how much time was left until we were back on the field charging into robots and goals.

For now you can get it from our website by clicking here. Hopefully it will be up on the Whitepages soon. Any feedback?

I hope you have a variable timer built into that program! FIRST is always running a little behind schedule. LOL It comes with the territory though I guess! BTW I did see one of you guys with that in the stands, I was wondering what that was, very cool!

I like, I like -

But in keeping with the tradition of liking stuff posted to CD, I've also got an idea for improvement - why not include the team numbers of the partners and opponents for the next match?

Hmm, thats not a bad idea. Actually, during the NYC Regional I wished I also put a round number into there, since the time needed constant adjustment. Wednesday or Thursday when I have some free time I'll get started on adding your suggestion in.

FIRST seems to be running ahead of schedule at the two regionals I've been to (Richmond and Philly), especially Philly.

Hmm, both at the Long Island and NYC Regional, they were behind schedule most of the time. I guess it depends on where you go...

Re: Flash Competion Pit Timer

This might be a few years late for asking this...
but does anyone know where i can still find this program?
or has any team developed something similar?

The two links don't work anymore...

Thanks in advance
