Just some answers I haven't seen yet.

1.

I use Chief Delphi to teach myself that a robotics team is not the limit for a graduating high school student, helping field reset at a regional competition is not the limit for a college student volunteer, and running an off season competition is not the limit for 21 years old young adult. Every day I come in to read some discussion and remind myself that there are endless potential for a single human being who is willing to stretch his/her imagination to whichever direction he/she wants. Then I remind myself this world is full of wonderful people, especially in FIRST, and that I am the only limit to the endless possibilities out there.

2.

I use Chief Delphi as a testing ground for my imaginations. I come up with a new idea, I think about it as I type it up, I get excited as I successfully present my idea in the form of writing, I get nervous about what kind of responds I will get, I get angry at myself for posting a foolish idea, I keep refreshing the page for new replies, I read the replies and learn from any constructive criticism there are, then I re-think my idea and repeat step one.

3.

Every time I log into Chief Delphi, it feels like I am plugged into a virtual reality with only thoughts and ideas in its own little universe. Sometimes the ideas are stimulating, sometimes they are funny, and sometimes they are sad. I don't particularly care what kind if information float through my mind, as long as they keep coming in and change my soul little by little. I smile when I sense a funny little conversation over in this corner, or I pay attention when I hear an energetic discussion over in that corner. It doesn't matter how those discussion ends, as long as the process of the discussion continues from one to another. It feels like I can do this forever and ever.

4.

To me, the Chief Delphi Forum feels like a Cafe I am always welcome to. Many cool people are aware of this Cafe, and they stop by whenever they want and chat with the people there just for fun. No one is unwelcome to this place, as long as you don't act mean or disrespectful. I come to this Cafe to meet cool people, talk to them, get to know them, and share my experiences with them. Many times I come here to ask for advices or have fun with the discussions, but usually I come to relax and put myself in a state of mind that's most enjoyable to me. I feel like I am in a place with only the best of the human experience in here. No need to worry about suffering or death, only ways to improve yourself and the world around you.

Re: How do You Chiefdelphi?

Why do I ChiefDelphi? Here's my top ten list...

10. Keep me from taking life too seriously. This place is FUN!

9. Find out more about this JVN character.

8. Put faces to names I’ve heard many, MANY times.

7. Keep up to date with the latest FIRST news - sometimes it hits CD before it hits the official FIRST website.

6. See what Andy Baker is up to…that sneaky little future survivor!

5. Provides year-round "participation" in the FIRST experiment/experience.

4. Great source of information on a wide variety of topics

3. Dave Lavery points out some pretty cool stuff.

2. If I didn't my students would pester me until I did!

1. Uncontrollably, unconsciously, undeniably, unquestionably addicted to FIRST.

i use chief delphi to get out my ideas about FIRST and the direction it should go and to offer opinions and advice on different topics. Chiefdelphi is a community in which all members of FIRST can work together as one team instead of many.

On ChiefDelphi, I:

> Give Help
> Get Help
> Stay in touch with people I've met through FIRST
> Talk about random geek-type stuff (i.e. welding with water )
> Try to reduce my episodes of FSAS (FIRST Separation Anxiety Syndrome)

Re: How do You Chiefdelphi?

I always pay attention to technical discussions to see what ideas I can pick up. And ChiefDelphi has given me plenty of ideas to think about. I also learn new things every day with discussions on chemistry, electronics, game design, ... (list goes on for infinity + 1 ). Its is a great resource for new teams and veteran team of FIRST, because it is open to everyone. ChiefDelphi is for people who think of robotics all day, all night.

Re: How do You Chiefdelphi?

I spend a fair amount of cruising CD to read and talk about various things; mechanical stuff, inventor, and any other random topics that come about. I have learned a large number of new facts by doing this. CD is a vibrant community, and I find it fun and informative to read posts by the other users on this site.

Re: How do You Chiefdelphi?

Chiefdelphi is my Myspace.
It's a fun place to hang out and network with other people in FIRST and talk turkey with my FIRST friends. And it's not in the crosshairs like Myspace is.

I use Chief Delphi to learn all sorts of FIRST related things from publicity to Inventor. CD really helps me stay connected to FIRST year round and reminds me that I am not the only robotics/engineering nerd on the planet! (Of course, I would never use CD for procrastination... )

Re: How do You Chiefdelphi?

I first used Chief when our lead mentor told us we had to post on it at least once, but now I find it is a useful tool for quick help or for advice giving; plus, you get to meet people from other teams (one things i always look forward to at competitions). It's also a good way to spend a day-there's so much stuff to read about so many different things!

Re: How do You Chiefdelphi?

Pretty much the same as I've mentioned before. The only difference is due to a change of job responsibilities last November I don't have as much time as I've had before. Some of the people on here may have noticed I haven't been as active as I used to be on here. I do still pop on here whenever I can though.

The sad part is I also missed most of the build season with 237. I think I only attended a total of 8 or 9 meetings last year with most of them being the last week. What's even worse is I had no idea what our robot looked like or even what we were planning on doing until I was able to show up to a meeting on the 3rd week!
