Re: Announcement: The 2004 IRI Talent Show!

Coming out of New Hampshire, we would like to show you midwesterners how to rock.
OK, now I am upset. I have called my friends Johnny Cougar (I still prefer his original name) and Bob Seger - prepare for the IRI version of 'Dueling Banjo's".

All 5 of us were on FIRST teams at one point, but we all were rejected in last year's volunteer screening process.
I now have much more faith in that screening process.

You might recognize our bassist, who was with the band "Slobber" in the 80's.
Based on his current age, is he now performing with "Drool"?

We hope you let us play, as we just got a new (to us) '79 Chevy Van
I'll notify the local police, and AAA Wrecker Service

Is there a campground nearby?
Ooops, sorry, when you get to Indiana you have passed by Woodstock. We stay in hotels.

Can we use the showers at the event?
No, there are wastewater standards in the city. We can give you directions to the White River, famous for recent fish kills due to industrial dumping.

That French Lick place sounds wicked fun, but how far away is it from the gig?
It is real close, especially by 1978 Chevy Van (I assume it has a 350 "pre-emissions" V8 powerhouse. I will book you a campsite.

Can we set off pyrotechnics?
No. That could set off a chain reaction. We have Walter the Farting Dog and several 'fragrant' FIRSTers at this event.

We could bring a goat for part of our stage show, if you think that would help.
Good idea. If Ritchie runs out of burgers we can have Goat-Mc-Macs.Just keep it away from the farm kids.

Ha, I misread Chris's post and thought he said "Flaming FIRSTers"... man, that is funny if you keep on reading past it.

Great. First we have these rejects from the east coast (if that is where they are from), who are going to "show us how to rock", and now we have Walter the Farting Dog. Combine these two with Karthik's ode-to-Top Gun, and we might have the start of a show.

My money is on Karthik, if he wears his dress whites. The girls are going to go crazy.

We need more acts. People need to step up here and show their stuff. I shudder to think that Karthik is going to come in from the great white north and show us all up. I've got something in the works (along the lines of the Survivor entry video), but I'll leave it as a suprise.

C'mon, people, we need more acts. Tell a joke. Do a dramatic reading of "Green Eggs and Ham". Put on a simple skit, poking fun at your FIRST friends. It's gonna be fun!

Still hoping that this Talent Show thing is a good idea,
Andy B.

All I gotta say is that you can't have a Maverick without a Goose....

And Maverick and Goose can't sing without backup from their "Navy" buddies during the chorus.....

I think Karthik should put on some "dress yellows", so we can really put on a show. Can't wait to tell him who we think should play Kelly McGillis....

What can I say, I can't help it if I'm irresistable.

Don't worry guys, once you hear my voice you'll be wishing you coughed up the money to pay William Hung's appearance fee.

It'll definitely be dangerous...

I'm willing to wear the yellow, but I'm not going to lie, I'm little bit scared about who you've got lined up to play Kelly's part...

"I don't like you because you're dangerous"
"That's right! Ice...man. I am dangerous."

Re: Announcement: The 2004 IRI Talent Show!

I'm terrified! I don't know about Andy's act, I think Karthik may take it.
(Boys + Dress whites + singing = swoon)

Well, we've got five DYNAMITE acts lined up. Believe me, all of these will be incredible!
