Re: Internet speeds

Wow... And I thought my Cable Modem speed was slow.. I guess not.

3.2 megabits per second

Communications 3.2 megabits per second
Storage 387.3 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 2.6 seconds
Subjective rating Awesome

Side note: I tried this test at school a few hours ago, and I got an error that my speed was either too fast or to slow to determine..
I'm guessing too fast!

Re: Internet speeds

3.4 megabits per second... not bad, considering I'm on a 802.11b connection to a crappy Linksys router, which is connected to a Motorola cable modem.

Very good, considering I pay for 1.5 Mbps (187 KB/s) , which means I'm getting 98% of my advertised line speed.

Thumbs up Re: Internet speeds

I had to do this as a comparison:
Below is Adelphia Cable through an 802.11b router first wireless then hardwired.
Communications 1.8 megabits per second
Storage 219.5 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 4.7 seconds
Subjective rating Great

Communications 2.4 megabits per second
Storage 292.4 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.5 seconds
Subjective rating Great

If you look back.. you'll see my DSL reading on THE SAME set-up.
I'll try to post one on the Super G later, or have Scott or Robert come in and post the Super G.

Re: Internet speeds

That test's filesize is way too small to be accurate. It says my line speed is only about 3.5mbit but running wget http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/...i386-disc4.iso is getting about 8-9mbit. I get about the same upstream, too.
