Re: What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

We turned ours into a mini pimpmobile with a little robopimp that wore a purple suit complete with a purple hat and green feather. Not really.

Last year we actually got it to follow masking tape on a desk perfectly...even when our programmer left the roll of tape on the desk and the robot pushed it and itself off.

Not really pimp, but I think it would have been cool if we did make it into a mini pimpmobile though.

Re: What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

we used it to make a replica of the Shrimp high mobility rover. its pretty cool, and it comes pretty close to working as well as the original. if you don't know what I'm talking about, look here or here.

perhaps not pimp in and of itself, but still cool. I guess if we really wanted to we could put rims on it.

last year we made a mini remote-controlled segway. it was up on our website for some time as "team hammond knocks 'em down" but has since been removed.

Re: What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

Superedubot. We decided to hook up some bosches with no gearbox to some 6" wheels, bolt this onto the edubot chassis and watch it fly across the parking lot.

**This project has not yet been completed. We started it after the 2003 season but it keeps getting pushed aside by other projects- read superdrive (nextgen drive train we've been working on), MOGO (full size segway we built), or the holonomic drive I built for my senior research project at school after this season. Poor Superedubot, we just keep getting distracted.

Re: What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

My programing team thought it would be funny to have their edu-bot follow people around our mock playing field, down the hall, waited at the bath room door and continued to follow into the shop. Remote controll of course, but they did use some sensors for line trackig, and programed it to dead rekon out the door and down the hall.

That'd be a cool program. Especially the waiting at the bathroom door part. Someone actually put reflectors on the back of her (?) shoes and made the edu follow that.

Re: What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

My edubot experienced dorm life.

I taught it to go down my hall, knock on a door, and then come back into my room. Dead reckon but it worked a couple of times.

Lots of fun at 1 or 2 in the morning.

Re: What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

We made a "Devil Bug"
A 6 legged walking robot trained to be the pet of our 2003 robot "Devil 1."

It has not been unassembled, and runs off of last years controls, so I walk it around every once in a while.

It has red LED ground lights, and devil horns like our helmets have.

Basically, we went to our high school's parking lot to get ideas for it (like the underbody neon lights!!)
